The brain of the football team and the thinking behind the league's most devastating Strike force the Brennan-Hobbs partnership.

Originally a geordie lad, having spent spells at Bradford City and previously Harrogate Town, Brennan is arguably Hampsthwaite United's best player and an essential cog in the well oiled machine Jono Way is piecing together.

A running machine like no other, Brennan will run and run and run, sometimes too much, at times doing other people's running for them.

His character and wit, as well as his football knowledge are appreciated by both the players as well as the (very) few that turn out each Saturday to watch him strut Hobbsy's stuff.

Capable of playing in midfield, Brennan is much happier up front and does most of his damage from the latter, providing an essential link from Midfield to Attack, as well as offering 'words of wisdom' at any given time.

Brennan can be used as a target man if needs be and if you want to go long, you'd put your house on him getting there first.

This pacey forward has got it all, power, speed and the all important 'cheap tricks' that will make a defender think twice about closing him down.

It's believed United declined a swap deal for Carl Cort which would have seen Brennan return to his native homeland under Bobby Robson's stewardship in Newcastle.

For now United's fans can be safe in the knowledge Brennan has been secured to a long-term future with the club.
